Ramsbury Welcomes Prince Charles

Visit of Prince Charles to Ramsbury

On Friday 15 December, Ramsbury gave the Prince of Wales a warm welcome despite the cold weather.

A band of young musicians from Ramsbury Primary School played a great selection of Christmas songs while their classmates kept themselves warm with some enthusiastic flag-waving.  After a few false starts (including a huge cheer for a passing police car!) Prince Charles arrived to everyone’s excitement.

Under clear blue skies, but in temperatures only just above freezing, His Royal Highness took time to chat to schoolchildren and shake hands with villagers before lunch in The Bell with local estate workers.  Earlier in the morning, the Prince had toured Ramsbury Brewery and Smokehouse in his role as Patron of the Prince’s Countryside Fund, set up in 2010 to promote the values of the British countryside, farming and rural communities.
