Ramsbury Pubs a fine choice of traditional English establishments
We’re very lucky here in Ramsbury, since we have not one but three splendid watering holes to suit all tastes.
For a relaxed atmosphere, pint and game of pool you can’t beat the Ramsbury branch of the Royal British Legion. Located halfway down the High Street, they host regular pool tournaments, parties and bingo nights. The “Legion” also shows televised sports events on its big screen.
For great Places to eat near Marlborough, you can’t miss a visit to the Crown & Anchor or The Bell.
The Crown and Anchor on the corner of Oxford Street and Crowood Lane is under ‘relatively new management’ and is perfect for casual dining. The beer garden is a delight in warmer months and they offer a wide, varied menu with a great option for take-away – the fish & chips is especially good.
The Bell at Ramsbury is owned by Ramsbury Estates and serves beers from its very own Ramsbury Brewery. Ramsbury Gold is always good and always on tap. The bar menu has a great selection of light meals (the “Bell Burger” is my favourite) and the adjoining restaurant offers a relaxed, fine dining experience. The Bell also has an excellent and popular coffee shop – Café Bella – with a great choice of delicious cakes and coffees and tea.
