The Ramsbury Street Fair has an exciting line up of events and attractions for all ages. Expect a kaleidoscope of entertainment you’d expect from the village of Ramsbury. As usual there will be food, music, our beer tent and lots of games for children of all ages.
Once upon a time, Ramsbury was prestigious enough to host 2 annual fairs – even Marlborough had to accommodate Ramsbury’s Michaelmas Fair by holding its Mop Fairs on the Saturdays before and after.
Ramsbury’s Spring Cattle Fair finally ceased in 1939 and the Michaelmas Fair in the 1950s. An annual carnival was instituted to replace the Fairs and survived until the 1990s but has in turn been replaced with a biennial Street Fair.
Now a group of local residents come together every two years to put on the Ramsbury Street Fair – a chance to have some fun and support charitable causes while continuing the village’s ancient tradition of holding fairs.
